ŽIVA

Lucija Ivšić, former frontwoman of the Croatian post-punk band Punčke, has redefined herself with her bilingual music project, ŽIVA. Based in Melbourne, ŽIVA combines Slavic-pop, darkwave, and experimental electronica to create a unique sound. Her live performances are energetic and immersive, grounded in live looping and experimental visuals. Alongside her music, Lucija creates sound installations and conducts research in human-computer interaction, focusing on music heritage and the role of technology in its reinterpretation and preservation. Her works Transhuman Ansambl (technological choir with 16 machine singers that use their voice) and What Homes are Made Of (interactive VR) have been exhibited internationally. She lectures at Monash Arts, Design, and Architecture.
